Quick and easy Chocolate bread recipe

Ingredients

*175 grams (1 and 1/4 cup) plain flour or all-purpose flour

*40 grams (1/2 cup) cocoa powder

*1 teaspoon baking soda

*1 and 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

*90 grams (1/2 cup) brown sugar

*50 grams (1/4 cup) caster sugar or granulated sugar

*1/2 cup butter

*1 teaspoon vanilla extract

*2 large eggs

*180 ml (3/4 cup) buttermilk

*110 grams (3/4 cup) chocolate chips

Tools required

  • A hand mixer is required to blend the butter and sugar together. In a large mixing bowl, place the needed amount of room temperature butter and the required amount of sugar. Using the hand mixer, cream the two components together.
  • Sifter: Sift all of the dry ingredients to get rid of any lumps.
  • Bowls: You’ll need two large mixing bowls to combine the wet and dry components.
  • Spatula: This recipe need buttermilk. So when adding buttermilk it is better to use a spatula or wooden spoon to avoid over-mixing the batter.

How do you bake?

Step 1:

Sift the cocoa if it has lumps, then add the flour, both sugars, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large mixing bowl.

Step 3:

Melt the butter in a large mixing dish in 20-second spurts, stirring in between. In a small bowl, whisk together the vanilla and eggs.

Step 4:

Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and pour in the wet ingredients and buttermilk. Using a spatula or a wooden spoon, fold the ingredients until it is barely incorporated.

Step 5:

Add the chocolate chips (1/2 cup) to the batter now.

Step6:
